    David W. Reeves - Special Guest Presenter

    David W. Reeves served at Chevron for more than 37 years, concluding his career as the company’s Senior Specialist for Bolting and Sealing Technology, supporting upstream, downstream, and chemical facilities worldwide. From 1994 until his retirement in 2013, he conducted extensive research in bolting technology and sealing performance, integrating field data with laboratory testing to advance industry understanding and practices.

    He authored all of Chevron’s corporate standards and testing protocols related to bolting and sealing, and has published numerous technical papers in Valve World, industry magazines, and the ASME Pressure Vessel and Piping (PVP) Conference, where his 2007 paper received the Best Technical Paper award.

    David is also a patent holder for the Delta Valve Transition Spool and the Alky One gasket and is the creator of several specialized sealing solutions used across the industry.

    Albert De Sousa - Quest Sealing Solutions

    Albert is a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with over 38 years of professional evolution in the oil and gas industry, encompassing maintenance, turnarounds, construction, and reliability engineering. Over the past 12 years, he has focused on Bolted Flange Joint Integrity, leading the development and implementation of comprehensive management programs across refineries in the United States and Canada. He also contributed to the API team responsible for creating the Individual Certification Program (ICP) for Bolted Flange Joint Inspectors (BFJI). Albert maintains an active global network of joint integrity professionals and continues to engage with advancing industry standards and practices.

    Bradey Baird - TEAM Inc.

    Bradey Baird is a leading expert in bolted joint integrity and the founder of Fastened.app flange management and calculation software. As the Global Director of Mechanical Services at TEAM, Inc., he oversees Onsite Machining, Controlled Bolting, and Isolation and Weld Testing services.
    Bradey helps shape industry-wide best practices as a contributing member of the ASME PCC-1 Subcommittee and the API BFJI Committee. His expertise has been instrumental in driving technical and reliability initiatives across a broad range of critical industries.
    Bradey holds B.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering, as well as an MBA. As a recognized SME and patent inventor, he is dedicated to advancing the industry's collective expertise through innovation and shared knowledge.

    Nathan Ash - Cenovus Energy

    Nathan Ash is a Professional Engineer working for Cenovus Energy in Lloydminster Alberta/Saskatchewan. Over the last 9 years he has provided technical support to Cenovus' Upstream, Midstream, and Downstream assets in Western Canada, primarily in the areas of static equipment including piping, pressure vessels, tanks, and heat exchangers. In that time he has supported operations and maintenance with troubleshooting numerous leaking flange joint assemblies and has been responsible for the development and implementation of bolted flange joint assembly programs and procedures across multiple assets. As a field engineer he understands the importance of applying a practical and fit for purpose approach when addressing joint integrity issues, with the goal of improving asset reliability.

    Alwyn Kaye - CNRL

    Al Kaye has over 30 years of experience in reliability, integrity, fabrication, construction, design, inspection and research. Al has a strong technical background with a wide array of unique and complementary skills. Comprehensive skills and qualifications including Bolting SME & Cokedrum SME. Specifically in materials, welding, fabrication, inspection & construction. Innovative in analyzing and solving stress, FEA , equipment design and analysis, integrity assessment, remaining life, reliability, failure analysis and maintenance Al’s career has encompassed Pipelines, Pressure, Fired and Rotating Equipment, Machinery, Structures, High Temperature applications, Heat Exchangers with practical & special applications in Chemical, Oil & Gas, Agri-Pharm, Machinery, and Offshore industries.

    David Clover

    David Clover began his career in the gasket and sealing industry in 1984 in Seattle.  He has worked both in distribution and in manufacturing for such diverse companies as Industrial Gasket, JM Clipper, Leader Gasket, Teadit North America, Advanced Sealing & Supply, and LGG Industrial. 

    David has focused on sealing issues in the refining, petrochemical and chemical processing industries, with an emphasis on heat exchangers.  He has been involved with the development and introduction of innovative specialty gaskets, and has introduced several Excel spreadsheet tools that are broadly used in North America. 

    David has been a frequently invited guest speaker at dozens of industry events, both nationally and internationally.  His technical papers have been accepted for publication by the ASME Pressure Vessel and Piping Conference, and he is a member of the ASME B16 Committee G, that is responsible for B16.20 and B16.21.   

    David resides on a 10-acre farm in Spokane, Washington. He and his wife, Shirley, have four children.

    Andri Orphanides - American Petroleum Institute

    Andri Orphanides is the Director of API’s Individual Certification Programs (ICP), where she has assisted in the development of 16 new certification programs. Andri also developed ICP’s IT infrastructure and facilitated the Programs’ move to computer-based testing. In addition to managing ICP’s 21 Certification programs, she works with various industry committees to explore strategic opportunities for credentialing growth and workforce development.

    Andri received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from George Mason University, specializing in production and marketing. She also holds a certificate as a Credentialing Specialist from the Institute for Credentialing Excellence and serves on ISO WG 30 that oversees the development of ISO 17024 Conformity Assessment requirements for bodies operating certification of persons.

    Mark is a leading expert in Bolted Joint Integrity serving as the Technical Director for INTEGRA Technologies. Leveraging 30 years experience designing and analyzing mechanical systems, Mark regularly contributes to global standards for safety as an active Member of ASME PCC-1 Subcommittee and the API Bolted Flange Joint Inspector and Bolting Assembler Certification Programs. With multiple awarded patents, Mark has designed and brought to market hydraulic bolting solutions to solve a wide range of challenges across the topside and subsea energy sectors. Mark is proud to share industry-wide best practices, helping to drive awareness toward overall bolted joint safety and reliability.
